sowing seeds organic t-shirts

It’s the same old cliche rolled out every January where we sign up to the gym, and go just twice. So at Second Perspective (or SPUK to use our URL handle and acronym) we’re not making any grandiose resolutions or setting any unrealistic goals.

That’s because 2018 was a pretty big deal. James and Octavia, aka the SPUK team, had a baby in May and in October - in between changing nappies, and mid-way through renovating their flat - relaunched James’ company SPUKT-shirts as Second Perspective, just in time to mark 20 years since he sold his first t-shirt as ‘Spunky Ltd.’

There was no big launch party or billboards to announce our return, but instead we planted a few seeds and started gently watering them: a new website, logo and look, with organic men’s t-shirts, organic women’s t-shirts, as well as unisex t-shirts and hoodies.

Although we have James years of experience and groundwork, and some loyal Spunky customers have put their hands up and said hello (Hello back! Another cliche but we wouldn’t be doing this without you!), the market is very different to when we were last properly part of it and we are pretty much starting from scratch.

A bit more grown-up and a bit less ‘Spunky’, we are determined that Second Perspective keeps its original core values: a small, creative brand selling organic men’s and women’s t-shirts designed by independent artists, giving them a platform to showcase their work; and our customers a unique, non-mass produced, beautiful t-shirt. Every couple of months we will be releasing a select few favourites from our back catalogue and some new designs. As well as organic men’s t-shirts, women’s, unisex and hoodies, we are also trying out some new styles in organic women’s t-shirts. So alongside women’s fitted t-shirts, we have vest tops and a sleeveless t-shirt.

We don’t have a team (just James and I), and no big investors (just our fast-dwindling measly savings) and a big dollop of enthusiasm, nervous excitement and fingers and toes crossed.

That’s why we are all about small seeds being planted. And so as we begin 2019, Second Perspective will be watching those seeds start to germinate and flourish as we gently water and nourish them every day.

Want to be a part of it? We are always looking for people to collaborate with:

  • Designers / artists / illustrators
  • Photographers
  • Social media influencers
